Day 4: Pilfering Wi-Fi
Today's Cool Stuff
I'm on the last legs of a degree. Literally one paper came back for revisions, and that's all that's keeping me from graduating. So today, the day it is returned for one teeny tiny revisions, of course the internet has gone down at home. Thus the early-ish post today. I sucked it up, put on my big girl pants and my big girl KN95 mask, and went to my local coffee shop (as local as a local chain be, I suppose). Covid, and especially this Omicron variant, are terrifying for me, a person who is incapable of avoiding whatever the is the sickness du jour. So sitting down in this shop for five minutes... that's big for me. So big ups to Beans and Brews, for having free wifi, a lovely place to sit, and excellent sugary coffee and rice krispie treats. If you're in Utah, give the Mr. B's a try.
Today's Accomplishments
1. Turned in my final paper
2. Cuddled some cats
3. Bought a new rice cooker that also works with quinoa.
4. Booked a housesitting gig with a new family. Seriously, the way that people recommend me for housesitting or tutoring services always makes me feel like less of an imposter. It's nice.
5. Stayed calm in the face of grumpy, early morning ickiness.
The checklist is going to have sparse progress today, since I've been dealing with silly cats and this whole paper thing, but we check off what we can nonetheless. Hopefully I'll be able to catch up by tomorrow. If not, my first "due date" (or rather my don't get so far behind) work day is the 9th, and we'll fix it up then.
